Step Into the Music with the 2MR Red

With the 2M Red you will hear the music come to life on its own terms. It is like taking a step into music itself. This is Ortofon's entry-level cartridge in the series, but what an entry. The 2M Red features a tipped Elliptical diamond and split pole pins with a copper wire. The engine provides an increased output of 5.5 mV and an optimized sound reproduction with a high level of sonic accuracy. 2M Red delivers an open, dynamic sound with a slight touch of warmth.

Next-Level Authenticity with the 2MR Blue

The goal for any cartridge should be to reproduce the sound as close to the artists vision as possible, and the 2MR Blue takes you further on this journey of authenticity. With the 2MR Blue, you get serious about listening to vinyl as it features a Nude Elliptical diamond and split pole pins with a copper wire. The 2MR Blue adds more dynamics, resolution, and sounds more open as it reproduces more details compared to the 2MR Red model.

2MR Black - True to the Groove

The 2MR Black is Ortofon's flagship of the series, and it lives up to this with flying colors. The 2MR Black is graced with a Shibata diamond, in which its slim, highly polished profile allows an exceedingly wide contact area to the groove walls and ensures notably detailed reproduction throughout the spectrum, including even the most high frequency groove information. The 2MR Black uses a special upgraded engine, featuring split pole pins with a silver plated copper wire.

2MR Black LVB 250 - Beyond Amazing

The 2MR Black is an amazing cartridge and, by many, is considered the ultimate in moving magnet. So, why would Ortofon attempt to create something even better? Because perfection runs in their blood. The 2MR Black LVB 250 upgrades the great build of the 2M Black with a boron cantilever and Ortofon's very own Nano Tube suspension system. The result is a sound so precise and so detailed that you feel like you've let the artist into your home, playing right in your living room. The 2M Black LVB 250 uses a Nude Shibata diamond on a Boron cantilever, the combination known from the acclaimed MC Cadenza Black cartridge. The use of an extremely stiff and lightweight Boron cantilever adds remarkable transparency, speed and responsiveness. The Nude Shibata stylus’ slim, highly polished profile allows an exceedingly wide contact area to the groove walls and ensures notably detailed reproduction throughout the spectrum, including even the highest frequencies. The 2MR Black LVB was released to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven in December 2020.

2MR 78 - Perfect for those 78's

The 2MR 78 features an improved engine, which provides a high level of sonic accuracy. The stylus' tip is a Spherical diamond that is perfect for playback of 78 rpm shellac records, which require a larger stylus profile. The cartridge body is manufactured from Hopelex, which ensures high rigidity while eliminating unwanted resonances. The 2MR 78 uses a strapped output to deliver the same output signal from both sets of pole pins. This effectively eliminates the need for mono-specific equipment, making it possible to enjoy true mono reproduction on any stereo playback system.
