Bowers & Wilkins CT8 LR
3-way Closed-Box System Speaker
For left/center/right channel home theater use, this highly advanced design uses Nautilus™ tube loading for purity, and a rotatable pod to aim the mid-range and treble drivers. Twin Rohacell® drivers deliver bass down into subwoofer territory.
3-way closed-box system. 1 x 1.25" metal dome Nautilus tweeter. 1 x 6" Kevlar FST midrange, 2 x 10” Rohacell bass. Power handling 1000W.
Front speaker: CT8 LR
Stationed to the left and right of the screen are two upright speakers. The CT8 LR features a spherical midrange/tweeter head that can be tilted towards the listener to retain a focused delivery, plus twin 10” bass units, as in the surround speaker.
Tweeter
For the Custom Theater range Bowers have taken their development of the Nautilus-derived tubeloaded tweeter a stage further. Following the same principle as the adaptation of the midrange tube, they’ve replaced the single, long tube with a whirl of tightly-packed, smaller channels contained in a shallow cup, each of which absorbs a portion of the unwanted sound energy from the back of the diaphragm. Even at frequencies well beyond human hearing, this tweeter sings like a bird.
