Their Prestige Series has been extremely popular, with five models ranging in price from $79 to $295. Grado headphones are known for their warm harmonic colors, rich full-bodied vocals, excellent dynamics, and an ultra-smooth top end. You’ll get a sense of this with each of the models in the Prestige Series, but there are noticeable performance improvements as you move from model to model.
In their never ending search for better sound, the team at AudioQuest quickly set out to design an alternative to the NightHawk. Enter the AudioQuest NightOwl Carbon, with its Porsche Carbon Grey Metallic high gloss paint finish. We were lucky enough to get to play around and listen to a pre-production pair at a recent meeting with AudioQuest.
If you enjoy the emotion and feeling of a live performance, you should also check these out. There are lots of choices out there in this price range, but these guys do some things we have not heard many headphones do. They’re just fun to listen to.
The AudioQuest DragonFly Cobalt is a very special portable or at home DAC for only $299. If you have a DragonFly Red or Black or the original DragonFly, you will love the improvements, especially if your headphones or system are of decent quality. Don’t get us wrong though, the Red and Black are great products, but once you hear the difference, it's hard to go back.
