BMW i7 Theater Mode: The Ultimate In-Car Entertainment

The new BMW i7 is a luxury sedan that sets new standards regarding technology and innovation. One of the most impressive features of the i7 is its Theater Mode, which transforms the backseat area into a mobile cinema.

The Theater Mode is powered by a 31.3-inch 8K touchscreen display that folds down from the roof of the car. The display is surrounded by ambient lighting and can be used to watch movies, TV shows, or play games. The sound is provided by a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system with 36 speakers.

While we haven’t tested this yet ourselves, we’re positive for a movie experience inside of a car, this sound system will be truly immersive. Bowers & Wilkins is known for their commitment to excellence in any system they provide speakers for. The speakers are strategically placed throughout the car, including in the seats, so that you can feel the bass during those big explosions in action movies.

However, physics and the size of the car will restrict this system. As we said, we haven’t tested it yet, but a real home theater with speakers positioned in the perfect positions around you will create a more immersive movie theater experience. But for a “movie theater” inside of a car, this is quite impressive and a huge step forward for entertainment on the go.

Here are some additional details about the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system:

  • The system has 36 speakers, including 16 tweeters, 14 midrange speakers, 4 woofers, and 2 subwoofers.
  • The speakers are strategically placed throughout the car to create a 360-degree sound experience.
  • The system is powered by a 1965-watt amplifier.
  • The system is capable of reproducing sound with incredible clarity and detail.

As audio technology continues to improve, we can expect to see even more amazing in-car entertainment experiences in the future.
