Overview

Bring clean power to a residential cinema with this sixteen channel AV receiver. Processing Dolby Atmos and 8K video, it ensures flawless performance. This premium sound system setup adapts to any room with room calibration and flexible matrix channel routing, delivering the ultimate home audio visual solutions.

The JBL Synthesis SDR-40 is built for residential cinema setups where reliable performance is needed. It processes sixteen channels and includes nine channels of Class G amplification. Each channel delivers one hundred watts into eight Ohms when all nine are running, so the system maintains clean power and avoids clipping or distortion during sudden peaks.

The matrix channel assignment feature allows surround outputs to be reconfigured, which helps with unusual room layouts or architectural constraints. The SDR-40 supports immersive formats including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, IMAX Enhanced, and AURO-3D. A high performance digital to analog converter handles high resolution files up to twenty-four bit and one hundred ninety-two kilohertz. Dirac Live room correction is included to calibrate the system to the room and maintain acoustic accuracy.

The video section includes seven HDMI inputs and three outputs, which can be used across two zones. HDMI 2.1a and HDCP 2.3 support allows for 8K video at 60Hz or 4K at 120Hz. The SDR-40 also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Variable Refresh Rate for gaming. Network audio options cover Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and Roon Ready. Setup and adjustments can be made using the high resolution front panel display or the JBL Synthesis app, which also shows album artwork.
