Overview

Clean up incoming electricity in any sound system setup using the Audiolab DC Block. Canceling up to 1.2V of DC offset while filtering high frequency RFI EMI noise, this dual action filter stops transformer hum and lowers the background noise floor.

Audiolab DC Block tackles electrical noise right at the wall outlet to deliver clean power directly to audio components. Standard household appliances, dimmer switches, and cheap power supplies pull power unevenly, pushing direct current onto the AC line. This compact inline unit cancels up to 1.2V (1200mV) of DC voltage, restoring balance to the incoming AC waveform before it reaches delicate gear.

Eliminating DC voltage stops toroidal transformers inside amplifiers from saturating, which directly cures annoying mechanical hums and keeps internal power supplies running smoothly. Alongside DC cancellation, a built-in high-frequency filter suppresses Radio Frequency Interference as well as Electromagnetic Interference. This twofold approach reduces both differential-mode noise from home appliances and common-mode noise from Wi-Fi networks or Bluetooth devices.

Wiring the unit into an existing rig involves plugging into the single IEC input and feeding the IEC output directly to a source component or amplifier. Built-in overload protection manages power safeguarding across current loads up to 8A. Measuring just 113mm wide by 140mm deep and weighing 0.7kg, this unit fits onto any equipment rack to lower the noise floor across custom audiovisual solutions.
