Overview

To complement the NEW AVM 90 and AVM 70 A/V Processors, Anthem introduces the new MCA 525, 325, and 225 Generation 2 power amplifiers. Available in 5, 3, and 2-channel configurations, these new MCA amplifiers feature robust and efficient power and heavy-duty reliability. MCA Generation 2 power amplifiers provide especially low THD (total harmonic distortion) for a clean, pure sound and lower noise for a supremely quiet background.

The High Notes

High Current Real Power

Each amp channel uses 8 high current discrete output transistors that are coupled to a massive toroidal power transformer to make your speakers pay attention! With the ability to deliver 600 watts into a 2 ohm load, the MCA 225 gives you tons of real world power

High Performance Power for a Great Price

There are lots of high power amps on the market, but sometimes high power comes at a sonic cost. To get the smooth and sweet sound of the Anthem MCA amps, with all the power they provide, at their low cost is really something special.

Canadian Green

Not only are these great amps hand crafted at Anthem's Canadian factory, they are super green when in standby mode consuming less than 2 watts when they are not in use.

Home theater separates rely on clean power to make their magic. Anthem’s MCA Power Amplifiers are available in 2, 3 and 5 channel configurations; and are a perfect match for the AVM 70 and AVM 90 A/V Processors both sonically and cosmetically. Anthem's Gen2 amplifiers bring improvements to internal power supplies and wiring to provide greater transparency with dynamically complex material. Background noise is almost completely eliminated thanks to a 120dB signal-to-noise ratio. Power ratings start at 225 watts into 8 Ohms and go up to 600 watts into 2 Ohms with perfect stability while driving the most demanding speaker loads. Advanced Load Monitoring ensures protection from clipping and maintains long-term performance and reliability. Our new modernized design integrates beautifully with our AVM AV Processors. With high current output and low distortion, you don’t just watch movies or listen to music, you experience them.

Audiophile Binding Posts

Custom-designed, oversized robust binding posts ensure full power delivery at all times. They’re easy to use and facilitate large speaker cable connectors.

Measured Performance

The Generation 2 MCA 525, MCA 325 and MCA 225, designed and built in Canada, are like no other amplifiers in the world: custom low-noise high-power toroidal transformers; high-current bipolar output transistors; high-quality filter capacitors; advanced power supply regulators; oversized aluminum heatsinks; custom-designed dual binding posts; and patented auto-on/off circuitry. Superior craftsmanship that is reflected in clean, clear, audiophile-quality sound from top to bottom of the frequency spectrum.

Stable As A Rock

Incredibly stable into difficult, low-impedance speaker loads, making these superb-sounding reliable performers in even the toughest circumstances.

Detachable Power Cord

By including IEC detachable AC female sockets and high-power, high-quality 14-AWG AC cords, MCA amplifiers further demonstrate their high-end pedigree

A thing of beauty

I was at the AA '22 show and found myself looking at Anthem and enjoying the sleek styling, but the amazing sound. 225 wpc is a solid start, but the proof is in the technology. This is the "gen 2" and it's a big redesign. A toroidal transformer that's as big as my head! The Advanced Load Monitoring keeps me from worrying about blowing the thing up (which is not even an issue anyways). I know it may seem like a simple thing, but the new binding posts are luscious; they work so well. More often than not, binding posts tend to be a complete afterthought of the industry and Anthem stepped up here with the posts. Clear highs, tight bass, and beautiful voices in the midrange! We all know the preamp, the speakers, the streamer or turntable, all come together to make these characteristics sound the way they sound, but I'm here to tell you, this amp makes a big quality difference in the sound.
Thanks to the AA team for their advice and my salesman was right when he said, "It's the last amp you probably will ever need...unless you just want to spend more money."

Fabulous Amp!

Audio advice recommended this amp for a dedicated two channel system, and I needed something with enough power to drive my 4-way, 4 ohm tower speakers.

This amp is amazing. Clean, smooth, detailed, and powerful. The bass is clean and punchy. Mids are full and warm with great presence. Highs are clear and detailed. The soundstage is is excellent and very wide, with great depth as well.

Build quality is outstanding. This is a big, heavy amp, and is built like a tank. It came triple-boxed from Audio Advice, which shows the care that was taken to make sure it was delivered safely.

I've tried a number of amps in my system, but none have blown me away the way this one does. I'm not sure why Anthem seems to be ignored by many of the "audiophile" types, but this amp is truly excellent, and a bargain for the price. The great service from the folks at Audio Advice is an added bonus.

Highly recommended.
