Overview

Dual CS 518 elevates any sound system setup with a belt driven DC motor, aluminium platter, and twin gimbal tonearm supported by four pivot ball bearings. Complete with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge and switchable MM phono preamp, it delivers balanced playback across three distinct speeds.

The Dual CS 518 manual turntable introduces listeners to high end analog playback with focused engineering and dependable build quality. At its base, a solid MDF plinth comes finished in black vinyl or optional walnut veneer, resting on sixty two millimeter feet fitted with elastomer vibration absorbers to isolate acoustic resonance. A die cast aluminium platter rotates smoothly on a hardened steel spindle housed inside a brass bushing, backed by a heavy two and a half millimeter rubber mat that effectively damps unwanted ringing.

Rotation comes from a belt driven DC motor, decoupled with rubber mountings to eliminate motor noise and maintain wow and flutter below point one percent. A top mounted rotary switch provides swift electronic speed changes between 33, 45, and 78 RPM. For precise tracking, the straight aluminium tonearm relies on a twin gimbal design with four fine pivot ball bearings. Setting stylus pressure remains straightforward through the statically balanced counterweight, while spring loaded antiskating adjusts accurately via an indexed dial.

Connecting the turntable into an existing sound system setup requires minimal effort. A factory fitted Ortofon 2M Red cartridge delivers balanced response on a removable headshell, while an integrated, switchable MM phono preamplifier enables clean pairing with line level stereo inputs as well as dedicated phono stages.
