Every product in the Audio Advice Certified Open Box program is carefully inspected and tested by our team before it is offered for sale. When equipment returns to our warehouse, it goes through a detailed evaluation process to ensure it meets our performance standards.
Our experts examine each unit for cosmetic condition and perform a complete functionality verification. Inputs, outputs, controls, and key features are tested to confirm the product operates exactly as intended. Products that do not meet our functional standards are never listed for sale.
Once the product has passed inspection, it is assigned a cosmetic condition grade so you know exactly what to expect before it arrives.
Condition Grading
Our grading system reflects cosmetic condition only. Every Certified Open Box product has already passed our full performance verification.
A Grade
A Grade products are in like-new cosmetic condition and perform exactly like a new product. They show no visible scratches, scuffs, or marks and include the original shipping carton along with all components required for normal operation. In some cases, non-essential items such as manuals, manufacturer registration cards, or secondary accessories may not be included.
B Grade
B Grade products show light to moderate cosmetic wear from prior handling or use. Minor scratches, scuffs, or small marks may be visible but do not impact performance. Displays and controls remain fully functional with minimal blemishes. Original packaging may not always be present, and certain non-essential accessories, such as commonly available cables or remotes, may occasionally be missing.
C Grade
C Grade products are fully functional but show more noticeable cosmetic wear, such as visible scratches, chips, or dents. Examples may include cabinet corner damage on a speaker or a minor scuff on a display surface. While cosmetic imperfections are more apparent, performance has been fully verified. Original packaging is often not included, and some accessories, such as speaker grilles, TV pedestals, wall mounts, remotes, or proprietary cables, may be missing.
