Harman Kardon Enchant Series Overview
Enchant 1100 Soundbar, Enchant 900 Soundbar, Enchant 900 Speaker, Enchant Wireless Subwoofer
Over the years, we’ve reviewed many soundbars that claim to deliver a true home theater experience. While the phrase “home theater experience” can mean different things depending on who you ask, we’ve been consistently impressed with how modern soundbars have improved TV audio and how close they’ve come to bridging the gap between convenience and true home theater performance. They still aren’t a replacement for a full setup with dedicated left, right, and center speakers that can create a wider, more spacious soundstage, and for truly deep low-end impact and bass extension, large dedicated subwoofers and tower speakers still have the advantage. But not everyone has the space for that, and many people simply don’t want to deal with cables or the look of bulky equipment in their living room. That’s where soundbars really shine, and every so often, a soundbar comes along that makes us stop and say, “This is the real deal.” The new Harman Kardon Enchant Series is one of those moments.
We first experienced these soundbars at Audio Advice Live 2025. In a show full of incredible products, this soundbar setup was busy all weekend, and for good reason. After hearing them at the show, we knew we needed more time, so we brought an early sample back to our lab for testing. Now, before we dive in, it’s important to note that these are not the older Enchant 1300 or 800 models from a few years ago. The 2025 Enchant lineup is a complete reboot that includes the Enchant 1100 and Enchant 900 soundbars, the Enchant Sub, and the Enchant Speaker, which is a compact wireless speaker that can work on its own or as part of the larger system.
After setting the components up, we couldn’t help but notice the subtle yet elegant appearance of the products. Harman Kardon has always been known for blending modern aesthetics with premium sound, and the new Enchant series carries that tradition forward. The soundbars have a fabric-wrapped finish with a clean, minimal top panel for quick access to controls. In person, they feel solid and well-built, the kind of product that blends into your home while still looking premium.
The Enchant 1100 measures just over 45 inches wide, about 2.5 inches tall, and a little over 5 inches deep, which makes it a great fit for TVs in the 55 to 65 inch range in a medium or large room. The smaller Enchant 900 comes in at 34 inches wide with the same slim height and depth, making it perfect for a bedroom, office, or smaller living room.
Once you dig into the technology, it becomes clear how much has changed compared to the older Enchant generation. Both soundbars support Dolby Atmos and include real, physical up-firing drivers that bounce sound off your ceiling and back down for the height effects in the soundtracks. The Enchant 1100 also adds DTS:X capability.
The Enchant 1100 packs eleven total drivers, with six racetrack-shaped full-range units, three one-inch tweeters, and two 2.75-inch up-firing drivers. It’s rated at 315 watts of total power and has a frequency response down to 52 hertz. The Enchant 900 uses nine total drivers, with four racetrack full-range units, three one-inch tweeters, and two 2.5-inch up-firing drivers. It delivers 195 watts of power and plays down to about 60 hertz. Both bars use Harman Kardon’s MultiBeam processing, which is designed to widen the front stage so effects spread across the room to create a large 3D sound field instead of feeling like they are locked to the speaker itself.
Another feature that impressed us at the show and in our testing is PureVoice. This processing is designed to keep dialogue intelligible no matter how loud the soundtrack gets. During our lab tests, it worked without making voices sound thin or harsh. It just kept lines clear in big action scenes where other soundbars sometimes get muddy.
Each bar gives you an HDMI input for a source and an HDMI output with eARC for your television. They support 4K passthrough with HDR10 and Dolby Vision, and include HDCP 2.3. There is also an optical input, Bluetooth for quick pairing, ethernet, and dual-band Wi-Fi. For streaming, you get AirPlay, Chromecast built-in, and Spotify Connect. Setup happens in the Harman Kardon One app, which is extremely easy to use. Beyond setup, the app gives you access to custom EQ controls, room calibration, and even feature updates over time, so users should be watchful for added functionality. We tried the calibration several times, and it made a noticeable difference. The system adapts to your walls, ceiling, and furniture so you get a more coherent 3D bubble instead of just louder sound.
When we tested the soundbars on their own, they sounded very good. But when we added the Enchant Sub, the system stepped up a level. The Sub uses a 6.5 inch down-firing woofer and a cone-shaped bass reflector that spreads bass evenly in all directions. With 100 watts of power, it’s not the biggest subwoofer on the market, but it adds a ton of low end that makes the entire system more exciting and cinematic. Explosions and action scenes hit harder, and music gained more fullness. In our opinion, the Sub makes the soundbar dramatically better and is well worth adding. When we played the opening chase from Mad Max: Fury Road, the Sub instantly made the action more visceral. Engines had weight, crashes rattled the room, and the soundbar no longer felt like it was working alone. Although we will say that we wish there were a subwoofer out on the back of the soundbars, which would allow you to upgrade to an even higher-performance sub or use one that you might already have.
Next, the Enchant Speaker is one of the most versatile products in the lineup. On its own, it works as a compact Dolby Atmos music speaker with angled side drivers and an up-firing driver that gives you immersive height effects in a small package. You can place it in the kitchen, bedroom, or office as a standalone wireless speaker, and it sounds surprisingly full for its size. Each unit also features automatic room correction, so it adapts its sound to whatever space you put it in. If you pick up a pair, you can link them together as a true stereo setup, which makes them even more compelling as music speakers before you ever bring them into a home theater system. You can also integrate them into a multi-room setup through the Harman Kardon app, so music follows you from room to room with perfect sync.
But when you bring a pair into your Enchant soundbar system, they transform into wireless rear speakers. Because each one has its own up-firing driver, you are not just adding rear surround channels.
You are adding rear height channels as well. That means when you combine the Enchant 1100, the Sub, and a pair of Enchant Speakers, you are building a 7.1.4 system with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, all without running any speaker wires.
That extra layer of rear height makes a big difference. During our testing, we watched Dune, which has one of the most atmospheric and dynamic Atmos mixes available. The Enchant Speakers pulled sound behind us and above us at the same time. As sandstorms roared and ships rumbled overhead, the Enchant system recreated that environment in a way that made it feel like we were inside the desert with the characters. Later, when we switched over to a live concert recording, the Enchant Speakers shifted seamlessly into a music role. Crowd noise spread naturally, instruments filled the room, and the rear Atmos drivers gave the recording a sense of height that made it feel like we were sitting in the audience. The beauty is that these speakers can also live on their own as regular music speakers in other rooms of your home. That kind of flexibility is rare and adds a lot of value.
Overall, the new Harman Kardon Enchant Series is a big step forward for the brand and a major improvement over the older Enchant models. With true Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding, dedicated up-firing drivers, MultiBeam processing, PureVoice dialogue enhancement, and simple app-based calibration and EQ, the soundbars stand out in a crowded category. The ability to expand from a single bar into a full 7.1.4 system with wireless rears and a compact Sub makes it one of the most flexible packages available today.
