B&W‘s latest speaker model, the CM10, was unveiled to the USA during our recent Digital Living event. If you heard the CM10, you were undoubtedly impressed.
The CM10 is a floor standing speaker with the tweeter mounted in a completely separate enclosure, just like the higher end Diamond series. In many respects, the CM10 reminds me of a very popular B&W speaker from about 25 years ago – the original Matrix 802. I had a pair of them in 1987, they sold for $4000 a pair, the same price as the CM10. I have to say, I think the CM10 clearly outperforms them too! The three bass drivers in the CM10 give you very fast yet deep bass response. Obviously, over 25 years, B&W has improved the tweeter design and it sure shows in the new CM10. Highs are very natural yet never have an irritating edge. Sensitivity has also increased, so you’ll find the CM10 to be extremely dynamic.
After playing a few of my favorite cuts, I am convinced this is one of the best speakers to come out of Bowers & Wilkins in a long time. Many people who heard them thought they cost close to twice their price! We invite you to come in with some of your favorite music and take these for a spin, you will not be disappointed!
