Dialogue never sounded thin or disconnected from the action. The LCR-2 also sounded much larger than its shallow cabinet would suggest. It had the output and scale to keep up with the FR-2s, which made it feel like exactly the center channel this series needed. With three LCR-2s mounted across the front, the soundstage was incredible. During the flying sequences in \u003cem\u003eTop Gun: Maverick\u003c\/em\u003e, jets and effects moved from one side of the screen to the other with magnificent precision. The tonal balance stayed consistent through the entire pan, with no obvious change in size, clarity, or character as the sound passed through the center channel. The center speaker essentially disappeared into the presentation, creating one wide and cohesive wall of sound rather than three individual speakers. The soundstage also had far more height and scale than we expected from cabinets this compact. They sounded much bigger than their physical size, with enough output to make action scenes feel powerful while still maintaining excellent control and detail.\u003c\/p\u003e\n    \n\u003cp\u003eThat performance makes the LCR-2 especially compelling for rooms where you want excellent sound without placing large speakers out into the space. Mounting three of them directly on the wall around a television creates a clean, simple installation while still delivering a truly cinematic front soundstage. They would also be a great option for surround channels, especially in rooms where the speakers need to sit flat against the side or rear walls.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2 class=\"subhead margin\"\u003eThe LCR-2 as a Stereo Pair\u003c\/h2\u003e \n\u003cp\u003eThe LCR-2 also works as a stereo pair. Mount two horizontally, one on each side of a television, add a subwoofer, and you have a compact two-channel system with almost no floor space, a great fit for an apartment or any room where floorstanding towers feel too large. With RoomPerfect bypassed, the system still sounded excellent, but the bass was a little fuller and less controlled, and the front soundstage didn't feel quite as locked in. Turning on Focus tightened everything up at the main listening position. Bass notes became more defined, dialogue gained even more clarity, and voices felt firmly anchored to the screen. During the opening Darkstar sequence in \u003cem\u003eTop Gun: Maverick\u003c\/em\u003e, the low-frequency energy had more impact without becoming heavy or overpowering, while the dialogue and smaller details remained clear above it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n    \n\u003cp\u003eGlobal changed the presentation in a different way. It wasn't quite as precise at the main seat as Focus, but the tonal balance remained much more consistent as we moved around the room. That makes it especially useful when several people are watching together and you don't want one seat to sound dramatically better than another.\u003c\/p\u003e\n    \n\u003cp\u003eWith that said, RoomPerfect is easily up there with some of the best room correction systems we've used. It didn't simply change the sound. It made the speakers feel more controlled, more cohesive, and better integrated with the room. The LCR-2 and FR-2 already matched extremely well on their own, but pairing them with Lyngdorf electronics and RoomPerfect brought the entire system together.
