As the Carolinas’ largest and most experienced home electronics integrator, Audio Advice does thousands of small and medium sized projects each year. We have also earned an unmatched reputation in the large scale/high-end market. If you build or remodel a luxury home and desire a high performance theater or total automation, we have the process and team to make this happen. While we do most work in the metro areas around and between Raleigh and Charlotte, we have provided systems from the Carolina mountains to the beaches. We’ve done high end projects in the mountains from Asheville and Linville all of the way to Lake Toxaway. We have worked up and down the Carolina coast from Atlantic Beach to Wilmington, NC down to Charleston, SC. (We’ve also been called in from as far away as Hawaii, Texas, Florida, and Chicago.) Audio Advice’s work has been featured in numerous national magazines and the company was named Best Specialty A/V Retailer in the United States by TWICE Magazine.
High Performance Theaters
With a history in high performance audio and video since 1978, we take home theaters very seriously. We’ve designed and installed more high performance theaters in the Carolinas than all other providers combined. All system designers are trained to deliver great home theaters. However, for particularly demanding high performance theaters, Leon Shaw (our founder and chairman) personally joins the team. Leon is one of the foremost experts in home theaters in the USA. At the beginning of client engagement, Leon analyzes room acoustics and does computer modeling of room dimensions and acoustic treatments. Leon and our team then recommend the right equipment, matched up for the desired performance level of the room. Because Audio Advice is much larger than the average system provider, we have access to the finest product lines at each price point. If we test it and think it’s the best, we get it and add it to our customer product offerings. You’ll find the best product lines plus the widest range. To fully appreciate what high performance theater can do, visit our showplaces in Raleigh and Charlotte. You’ll experience high performance in both locations beyond anything else in the Carolinas.
The theater design, installation and calibration process is critical to theater success. Once we are finished installing the theater, Leon personally calibrates the room. A typical scenario is that the customer loves the theater and thinks we are done. Leon then comes in to do the final calibration and we then we hear: “Wow, I did not think it could get even better” or “This is incredible.” Hearing our customers say things like this is what motivates us every day. (We have been sought out to fix numerous theaters where the customer spent lots of money but the room was either designed wrong or the installer did not have access to the products or have the level of expertise to provide true high performance.)
Luxury Home Automation
Audio Advice has been the largest custom home automation provider in North Carolina for over a decade. Our luxury home automation efforts are guided by our CEO, Scott Newnam. Scott joined Audio Advice as an acclaimed technology executive. While attending Harvard Business School, he founded an interactive TV technology company subsequently bought by Ericsson. Prior to joining Audio Advice, Scott was searching for the most advanced control system for his own home. After studying the market, he concluded that Audio Advice was the best integrator in the state, although the company (along with other providers at the time) viewed home automation only as an early adopter novelty. He joined Audio Advice and invested capital to spearhead the development of our Signature Series home automation system. The concept was clear: develop processes, software and capabilities to deliver an easy to use, reliable and scaleable home automation system that simply works. Since Scott joined Audio Advice, we have integrated the Signature Series home control system into the finest homes in the Carolinas. We have invested enormously to create what many industry influencers have said is the best home automation system available.
A fully integrated home is far more complex than one with only music and universal remote controls. A 10,000 or 20,000 square foot home is also exponentially more complex than a 5,000 sf home. It’s not only about the design, the hardware and the software, it’s also about using tried and true products. It’s about having tested all of the products together. Many start-up audio/video companies have gone out of business delivering their first large home automation system. Our team members live with the products we sell and our owners have fully automated homes serving as final test laboratories for our systems and products before they go to our market. Our reputation and scale have attracted the very best salesmen, designers, project managers, installers and programmers in the industry.
